As of 0900 hours this morning, New Prospect Fire District has placed into service a 2018
Pierce Saber Rescue Pumper Designated as Engine 1. This unit replaces the originally
designated Engine 1 (a 1987 Ford Cab over) and is the culmination of over a year of hard
work from all the dedicated members of the department. This work included a committee
of members that would go through the spec and designing phase with the apparatus sales
and manufacturing team, a group that would go the plant to do a final inspection of the
unit and a dedicated staff that worked diligently to place the unit in service. We look
forward to years of dedicated service to the community from this unit and hope that it will
look as good and last as long as the previous Engine 1 in it's 31 years of service to the
district.
